Whew...a little scare, and an emotional milestone

Yesterday Victoria was having some cramping and spotting. She called the OB/GYN and was told to watch it, and if it continued to visit in the morning. It diod, and she did. They performed an ultrasound and allowed her to hear the fetal hearbeat - all was well! She left me a message that a gift was to be found on the table at home - an ultrasound picture of our future baby!

A threshhold has been crossed for me with this news. Before this news the baby was a nebulous concept that I have not been too sure about in my mind. I felt a bit removed from the idea. As of this news I feel giddy and excited - it is now a real live person that we can look at and (with the aid of medical technology) listen to! From Victoria's message to me she sounded giddy as well. I can't wait to get home and show the picture to Brianna!

We're having a second child!

We are going to be parents again for the second time! Victoria started getting concerned when her little friend was late during her annual trip to Cape Cod in mid-July. Last Thursday, July 27 Victoria was driving home from a meeting in PA and decided to end the anticipation. She got off the road, looked for a drugstore and could not find one. Then she found a K-mart and bought an EPT test. A quick test in the potty showed up with 2 lines - positive! She called me when she got back on the road and informed me I was going to be a daddy again!
